What qualifications do you need to get a PhD?

To pursue a PhD, you generally need a master's degree or its equivalent. However, specific fields of study or institutions may consider applicants without a master's degree. The research project should make a significant contribution to the existing body of knowledge in your field.

In general, universities typically mandate five to seven years of combined coursework and research for a PhD. This may encompass full courses, seminar classes, language prerequisites, internships, and independent research. Throughout this duration, you will be required to fulfill coursework mandates covering advanced knowledge and theories pertinent to your field of study. Additionally, you will undergo comprehensive exams and defend a dissertation in front of your doctoral committee.
